I LOVE Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling has so many great quotes in her writing that I just love love love. Here are a few good ones to scroll through…
Great quotes! And great books! I would love to hear more about what you liked/learned/found in this series. :)
Aspen! Thank you for the comment :)
As far as what I learned from the series, I guess that reading them while dealing with a slightly serious, but now more than controlled (I am healthy!!), health issue helped me recognize the importance of family, friends, hard work, and putting in a good fight for myself and the people I care about. I think that the situation I was in when I read them really impacted my healing journey and my understanding of the story’s messages.
Some learning that I took aware form the series….
Not judging people based on your experiences with them and understanding that everyone is going through something you don’t understand and are not aware of. I look at Neville and Snape in this case and see people who were cast aside but ultimately took huge risks to help others.
Using fear as a tool, working with your own skills, accepting diversity, and recognizing that everyone has a role to play (literally, everyone… even little house elves all the way up to headmasters)…. I literally cannot even say all the things that I have learned from HP, as every time I reflect on it, I come up with more things!
The way that J.K. wove everything together taught me that there is a link between all things and that every part of your life impacts the world around you. I just think she is a genius.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to further reflect on my HP love!
I can totally understand that! Thanks for sharing. :)
I love how you said, “the situation I was in when I read them really impacted my healing journey and my understanding of the story’s messages.” This is really true for me too. Harry Potter helped me a lot in working through questions and healing. In fact that’s what my whole blog ended up being about.
I love your ideas!
1. “Not judging people based on your experiences with them and understanding that everyone is going through something you don’t understand and are not aware of.” I’m working on writing an essay about this right now. :) Hopefully it’ll be done soon. :)
2. “Using fear as a tool.” Great lesson from HP. I would love to hear your thoughts on my own essay regarding fear and Harry Potter…http://horcruxesheroesandharrypotter.wordpress.com/2013/09/18/59/…no pressure though
3. “The way J.K. wove everything together.” Amazing! This is totally one of the elements that got me hooked on the story. :)
I look forward to hearing more from you. Thanks for sharing all of these HP connections. You have some really great ideas! Have you ever thought of writing more about these connections you have made through HP?
I will definitely take a read through your blog! But, due to general businesses with school and extra-cirriculars, I will not have much free time until November… I will make sure I read it when I get a chance. I have even bookmarked your page so I can find it easily :)
Talk to you soon, I’m sure!
No worries, take your time…life gets a ways from us with everything we have going on. I can’t believe it is almost Halloween already! :)
And whoever designed all these captured the words perfectly!
Aren’t they great?! A google image search is all it took to find these beautiful pieces of art!
